2014 Check Presentation

Yachtstock board member Steve Kurtz presents gift to Noah Lamey family

Yachtstock RiverJam 2014 A Huge Success

Yachtstock is pleased to announce that a total of $22,000 was raised for Shriners Hospitals Philadelphia Unit and Heart 4 Noah (our local beneficiary - the Noah Lamey family). Board member Steve Kurtz lead the official presentation to the Noah Lamey family that included a poster of the film Invincible signed by Eagles star Vince Papale and a check from Yachtstock. Mr. Kurtz told Noah at the presentation, "you are truly invincible."

Noah's father expressed his family's deep thanks to the Yachtstock board and volunteers for their efforts and stated that his family looked forward to the opportunity to support charitable work in the future, and give back to the community.

RiverJam 2014 was a record setting year. We were blessed with perfect weather, great performances from our artists, and tremendous crowds. It was a day that truly lived up to our 2014 motto of "Great Music, Great Fun, and a Greater Cause."

Yachststock wishes to thank the many volunteers and sponsors who helped make this perhaps our greatest event ever. We can't wait to do it again in 2015!

CONTEST ENTRY

FB Contest 2014Attention all singer songwriters! Yachtstock RiverJam is holding two (or three) mini-set slots open for our festival June 28th in Essington, Pennsylvania (just south of Phila. airport) for yet to be named local artists. Could that be you performing up on the Riverview stage?

Here are the details:

Contest Entry  Simply email us at the link below a video of you performing an acoustic version of an original song that you wrote. By "acoustic" we mean preferably just you on guitar, mandolin, piano, accordion (or whatever is your thing) singing your song. Yes, it must be an original tune you wrote (or co-wrote). This contest is open to all, except winners of the 2013 competition. If you entered last year and did not win you are welcome to enter again.

Video  Your video should be on YouTube/Vimeo with reasonable audio quality. It definitely does not need to be a broadcast quality music video (an iPhone can do a surprisingly good job!) but should showcase your awesome singing, song, and groovy personality.

What Happens Next?  We will post the videos of all entries deemed competition worthy by our judges on our Facebook page (deadline for submittal is Sunday, June 22). We will then announce up to 5 finalists on our Facebook page Monday, June 23rd and publish a Facebook poll to determine the most popular videos. At least two (maybe three) of the top vote getters will be offered the opportunity to perform a mini set (acoustic) at Yachtstock RiverJam June 28th. Winners will also receive 2 complimentary passes to the event and can set up a small table to sell their music and merch. The winner's videos will also be posted on our website and you will receive consideration for a reserved performance slot for next year's Riverjam as well!

Rules  This is a charity event for a worthy cause. This is not a paying gig. We reserve the right to change the rules at our own discretion or uninvite those who behave badly. Our judges will be looking for a) Talent of course! b) Contestants living in the Greater Philadelphia Region (as our goal it to sell tickets and raise as much money as possible for charity) and c) Entrants that generate a lot of activity on our FB page and on their own social networks (for same reason as in "b").

For those about to rock we salute you!

Ok, ready to get rolling?
