Owen Capella

Owen Cappella is an adorable 5 year old who has gone through more in these few years than most people go through in a life time. He is legally blind, with light perception only, a condition called optic nerve atrophy for which there is no cure. He is hearing impaired, has to be fed through a feeding tube, and has seizures. His speech and motor skills development are also slow. Owen has an irregular heart rhythm and wears orthotics on his lower extremities to increase stability. The parents took him to Boston Children's Hospital and to Cleveland Clinic for second opinions and a diagnosis. He has been given the general diagnosis of "Mitochondrial Disease". There are many sub-types, but his could not be isolated
